A lecture in, an episode out

A 90-minute recording of a good class is not yet a listenable episode: it has ten minutes of pauses, a hundred “ums”, and no way to jump to the part a student needs. Cast fixes all three — by text, in an afternoon.

Chapters do the heavy lifting

Long-form teaching lives or dies on navigation. Mark the sections in the transcript — the title comes from your own words — and they export as clickable YouTube chapters and Podcasting 2.0 markers, so “where was the part about X” has an answer.

The cleanup handles scale: pauses are listed against a threshold in seconds and shortened in bulk, fillers cut in one pass, and captions export from the edited transcript — so what students read matches what they hear, cut for cut.

  • Edit 90 minutes by reading it
  • Bulk pause & filler cleanup
  • Chapters students can jump to
  • Captions match the edit

FAQ

02How do I remove pauses in bulk?

Cast lists every silence and marks it in the transcript. You set the threshold — show me pauses longer than X seconds, 0.5s by default — and then cut or shorten them, one by one or all at once.

03How do I export captions?

Captions come from your edited transcript and download as SRT, VTT or plain text — so the words you cut do not come back in the subtitles.

04How much audio can I bring in per month?

Upload a file or record straight in the browser — files up to 1 GB each on paid plans, 200 MB on Free. Either way transcription starts automatically as soon as the audio lands, so you can begin editing by text without asking for anything.
