Auphonic does one thing extremely well: hand it finished audio and it comes back levelled, loudness-matched and filtered. What it is not built to do is help you decide what stays in the episode. Keep Auphonic where it is strongest
If your show already has an edit pipeline and you need consistent levels across a back catalogue — or you want to process on a schedule, from a script, without opening anything — Auphonic is the better tool and Cast does not try to be it. There is no batch queue here and no API.
What a processing pass cannot do
Levelling makes an episode sound even. It does not make it shorter, and it does not decide that the first four minutes were throat-clearing. That work — the part that actually costs the afternoon — happens before any processor sees the file.
Cast moves that work into text. Every filler is counted per speaker, every silence over your threshold is listed, and each cut snaps to a quiet point and stays reversible. Then the finish happens on the same screen: music generated for the episode, ducking itself under the voice, and an export that lands on the platform target without you opening a meter.

FAQ
01How does Cast set loudness for each platform?
Apple Podcasts wants −16 LUFS; Spotify and YouTube want −14 LUFS; broadcast (EBU R128) wants −23 LUFS. Most tools make you type that number in. Cast ships the target with the platform — pick where you are publishing and it normalizes to that, with true peak at −1 dB. (Master is the exception: no normalization, no ceiling — untouched on purpose.)

Select any run of words in the Voice Editor and a menu appears. You can delete them (the audio is cut and the gap closes), ignore them (the audio is muted, the timing stays), correct the wording, mark a chapter, assign a speaker, or copy and paste words elsewhere.

Yes — music you generate in Cast comes with a commercial license on Plus and Max, and every export made on those plans carries its own license record. Free music is only free until a platform, a client or a rights holder asks where it came from; here you have the answer on file. (Free and Lite have no commercial license, and music you upload yourself is yours to clear.)
