How to export a podcast for Spotify and Apple

Pick the platform in the export dialog — Spotify targets −14 LUFS, Apple Podcasts −16 — choose MP3, and export. The file arrives at the loudness the platform expects, so it drops into any podcast host without a re-master.

Step by step

  1. 01Pick the presetSpotify Podcast or Apple Podcasts — the LUFS target is printed on the preset, not typed by you.
  2. 02Choose the formatMP3 is what you publish; every platform re-encodes it anyway. WAV is for handing to someone who will keep working on the audio.
  3. 03Take the bundleAlongside the audio: captions (SRT/VTT), the chapters files, and — on Plus and Max — the license record for any generated music.
  4. 04Upload to your hostCast is deliberately host-agnostic: no RSS, no lock-in. The bundle drops into any podcast host as-is.

What changes with your plan — and what never does

Exporting is never metered and never watermarked: any plan exports a finished, publishable file as many times as you like. The plan sets the quality ceiling — MP3 128k on Free, 320k on Lite, WAV on Plus, broadcast-grade on Max — not what you are allowed to do.

FAQ

01How do I export as MP3 or WAV?

Open Export, pick the platform you are publishing to, and choose MP3 or WAV. Cast renders the mix and normalizes it to that platform's loudness. Exporting costs no credits — on any plan, however many times you do it. What changes with your plan is the quality you can reach, not what you can do.

02Can Cast publish to Spotify or Apple for me?

Cast finishes the episode; your host distributes it. Cast is deliberately host-agnostic — no RSS, no lock-in — and the file it hands you is already normalized to the target platform's loudness, so it drops into any podcast host without a re-master.

03Why can’t I download a WAV on Free?

There is no watermark on any plan — your episode is your episode, even on Free. What a plan sets is the quality ceiling: Free and Lite export MP3 (128k and 320k), WAV and lossless unlock on Plus, and broadcast-grade output (EBU R128) is on Max.

04Where do my past exports live?

On the Exports page. Every export you have made is listed there and can be downloaded again — with its license PDFs bundled in, if it was made on a licensed plan — so losing the downloaded file never means re-rendering the episode.
