The problem
YouTube Shorts Background Music
Problem
Shorts audio gets claimed or muted
You find a track that fits, post the Short, and later see a Content ID claim or muted audio. Revenue is split or lost, and you re-edit and re-upload a clip that already had its moment.
With Mubert
Each track is generated fresh from your prompt, built from samples by paid human artists, and every download includes a license certificate. Monetized Shorts need a paid plan with commercial use.
Problem
Everyone's Shorts sound the same
The trending stock tracks and library loops show up under hundreds of other Shorts in your niche. Viewers hear the same beat they just scrolled past, and your clip blends into the feed.
With Mubert
Describe your mood, genre, tempo and instruments in the prompt, or upload a frame from the Short as an image. You get an original instrumental made for that clip, not a shared library pick.
Problem
Cutting tracks down to fit
Shorts have tight, fixed runtimes, but library tracks are the wrong length. You trim in the editor, fake an ending with a fade, and the music still cuts off mid-phrase or drags on.
With Mubert
Set the exact duration before you hit Generate, from a few seconds up. The track comes out at that length, with no manual trimming or fade. Pick the loop type if the clip repeats.

How to make it
Shorts start fast, so the music should too. Pick a track with a clear beat in the first second, a tempo around 110 to 125 BPM, and a light lead such as plucked synth or muted guitar that stays out of the voice range. Keep the low end tight so phone speakers don't muddy it. A loop that ends where it begins suits Shorts, since the video replays automatically.
In Render, use the prompt above, set type to Loop and length to 0:30, then press Generate. Tempo and instruments go in the prompt text, since there are no separate controls for them. Add a genre or mood preset if you want. Before publishing, check that your plan covers commercial use, because monetized Shorts need it, and don't register the track in Content ID.

FAQ
YouTube Shorts Background Music
Can I use Mubert music in monetized YouTube Shorts?
Commercial use, including monetized videos, needs a paid plan that includes it. The free plan is for non-commercial use only, with a few MP3 downloads a month. Every download comes with a license certificate, which you can keep on file in case a client or platform asks where the music came from.
Can I register my Shorts track in Content ID?
No. No plan allows registering the tracks in Content ID, releasing them as standalone music on streaming services, or selling them on stock music sites. You can use them in your own videos under a plan that covers it. The music is built from samples recorded by human artists who get paid.
