This short video earnings calculator turns monthly views into an estimated payout on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Pick a platform, enter your views, and it shows a range in dollars, who qualifies for the program, and the rules that decide which views count. No platform publishes its rate, so every number comes from creators’ reported payouts, with the source linked in the table.

How to use the short video earnings calculator

    1. Pick the platform you post on.
    2. Enter your views for a typical month.
    3. Read the range, then the eligibility lines under it. If you do not meet them yet, your views pay nothing.

Why most short video views pay nothing

Every platform pays only accounts inside its creator program, and only for views that qualify. On TikTok, the Creator Rewards Program needs 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the last 30 days and an account in one of eight countries. Even then, only videos over one minute earn, and a view counts after five seconds. On YouTube, Shorts pay only inside the YouTube Partner Program. Facebook and Snapchat invite creators in. Instagram does not pay for views at all.

So the first number to check is not your views. It is your eligibility, which the short video earnings calculator lists under every result.

TikTok in the short video earnings calculator

TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program pays a reward per qualified view, set by where the viewers live and by a bonus for watch time, completion and search value. An analysis of creators’ disclosed payouts, reported by Stack Influence, found $362 to $1,035 per million qualified views. That is $0.36 to $1.04 per 1,000. Your total views will be higher than your qualified views, so enter the qualified number from your dashboard if you have it.

Because only videos over a minute earn, short clips that do well on views can still pay nothing. Our guide on how to add music to TikTok videos without getting muted covers the other way views get lost.

    YouTube Shorts revenue sharing

YouTube pools the ads shown between Shorts each month. Part of the pool pays for the music in those Shorts: a Short with one music track sends half of its share to music rights. The rest goes to creators by their share of engaged views, and the creator keeps 45%. Creators report $0.02 to $0.30 per 1,000 views.

However, the rules change on February 1, 2027. From then on, a channel earns from Shorts in a month only after 10 million qualified Shorts views in the previous 90 days, according to YouTube’s announcement. Smaller channels keep their long-form earnings, which pay far more per view. For that side, see how to make money on YouTube.

Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat in the short video earnings calculator

Facebook pays through Content Monetization, which is invite only. Meta pays for qualified views and watch time and shows each creator an earnings rate in the dashboard, but publishes no rate. So the short video earnings calculator leaves it empty rather than guessing. Even so, Facebook paid creators nearly $3 billion in 2025, about 60% of it for Reels.

Instagram, by contrast, pays nothing for Reels views. Creators earn from Gifts, where the creator gets $0.01 per Star, from invite-only bonuses, subscriptions and brand deals. Snapchat shares ad revenue from public Stories and Spotlight with invited creators who have 50,000 followers and 15,000 hours of view time in 28 days. Snap publishes neither the share nor a rate.

Views for $100 a month in the short video earnings calculator

At the rates in the short video earnings calculator:

    PlatformViews for $100
    TikTokabout 96,000 to 278,000 qualified
    YouTube Shortsabout 333,000 to 5,000,000
    Facebookrate not published
    Instagramviews do not pay
    Snapchatrate not published

The spread is wide on purpose. Where your viewers live matters most: in AIR Media-Tech’s channel data, Shorts views from the US paid about $0.33 per 1,000, and views from India less than a cent.

Music, the other line in your earnings

On Shorts, licensed music takes part of your pool share. On TikTok and Instagram, a track you have no rights to can get a video muted or blocked, and a muted video earns nothing. Our guides on using music legally on TikTok and adding music to Reels without copyright issues cover the rules. Alternatively, Mubert Render makes an original track from a text prompt, cut to the exact length of your video. If you stream as well, the streamer earnings calculator does the same maths for Twitch, Kick and YouTube live.
