The problem
Dark Ambient Music
Problem
Dark tracks that run out early
You find a good dark ambient drone, but it ends at three minutes and your horror ambience video, sleep stream or tabletop session runs an hour. Looping it leaves an audible seam, and fading out kills the dread.
With Mubert
You set the exact length before you generate, up to 25 minutes. The track is built to that duration, so there is no looping, trimming or fading by hand to cover a long scene.
Problem
Everyone uses the same dark drone
Search any stock library for dark ambient and the same few cinematic drones come up. Viewers of horror channels and game streams recognize them, and your video ends up sounding like a dozen others.
With Mubert
Each track is generated fresh from your prompt or an image, so you describe the exact mood, tempo and instruments you want. Generate again and you get a different track, not the same file.
Problem
Unclear rights for monetized videos
Dark ambient tracks pulled from random sites often come with vague terms. If you monetize your channel or take client work, you can end up with a claim, muted audio or no proof you were allowed to use it.
With Mubert
Every download comes with a license certificate. Monetized videos, posts, ads and client work need a paid plan that includes commercial use. Registering the tracks in Content ID is not allowed on any plan.
Mood
By the numbers
All-time Spotify streams of Chill, the platform's most streamed mood

Views on the Lofi Girl stream knocked offline by a false copyright claim in 2022
Dark Ambient Music
How to make it
Dark ambient works when it stays out of the way. Think long drones, low sub bass, bowed metal, distant reverb and almost no rhythm. Keep the tempo slow, around 40 to 60 BPM, or implied rather than heard. Leave the midrange empty so voiceover and sound effects stay clear. For games and long videos, pick a loop of a few minutes so the repeat point goes unnoticed.
Open Render, paste the prompt, set the type to Loop and the duration to 180 seconds. Put the tempo and instruments in the prompt text, since there are no separate controls for them. Pick a mood preset if you want a nudge, then press Generate. Before you publish, check whether your plan covers commercial use. Monetized videos, ads and client work need a paid plan.

FAQ
Dark Ambient Music
How long should a dark ambient loop be for a game or stream?
A few minutes works well, since the repeat point is harder to notice in slow, textural music. In Mubert Render you set the exact length yourself, from a few seconds up to 25 minutes, and choose the Loop type. Nothing has to be trimmed or faded by hand.
Can I use dark ambient tracks from Mubert Render in monetized videos?
Yes, with a paid plan that includes commercial use. The free plan is for non-commercial use only. Every download comes with a license certificate. Registering tracks in Content ID, releasing them as standalone music on streaming services, and selling them on stock music sites are not allowed on any plan.
